IN HIS PRESENCE
Today's reading: Matthew 1-2
"...Once again the star appeared to them, guiding them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house where the child and his mother, Mary, were, and they fell down before him and worshiped him." Matthew 2:9-11 NLT
It says the wise men were filled with joy when they saw the star.
That's nice.
Joy is a great feeling. It gives you the warm fuzzies and makes you feel better all over.
What I like reading is that the star brought them joy, but the Baby brought them to their knees. It was only when they saw the Christ Child that they worshipped. Truly worshipped.
I want this year, for me, to be filled with more worship.
More on my knees, overflowing from my heart, spilling out of my soul, worship.
More time in His presence.
More of what's important--to Him and to the deepest part of me.
