MEMORY
Today's reading: Deuteronomy 16-19
"Remember that you were slaves..." Deuteronomy 16:12 NLT
I believe it's time for an old-fashioned testimony service! It's time those of us who have been washed by the blood, redeemed of our sins and cleansed from all unrighteousness stand up and make a public announcement as to who we were and how good He is!
I'm not who I used to be. Bitterness, anger, fear and hate used to fill my heart. Looking out for 'me' was my past-time. My opinions and the statement thereof were my occupation. My plans, and my plans only, were what I was committed to.
But God, in His goodness, has taken me, worked on me, molded me into a closer semblance of His Son and is slow to anger when I slip up!
I remember who I once was--and it sickens me. I recall, vividly, how I once behaved, spoke and whittled away my days on things of less than eternal value--and I'm ashamed. I used to be bound by doubts, wonderings and every passing 'help-yourself' scheme.
But today, I'm no longer a slave! And remember that makes all He's done so much more amazing!
Can I hear someone testify?
