NO CONTROL
Today's reading:  John 19

"When Pilate heard this, he was more frightened than ever.  He took Jesus back into the headquarters and asked him, Where are you from?  But Jesus gave no answer.  You won't talk to me?  Pilate demanded.  Don't you know that I have the power to release you or to crucify you?"  John 19:10-11 NLT

Oh, Pilate, you had no clue to whom you were speaking.

You stood before the Son, and still considered yourself to be someone special?

You thought, if only for the next few days, that the power you held was of any use, any value, anything to brag about.

I have 'Pilates' speaking to my head all day long.  Attempting to convince me that they rule me, they govern me, they are owed my allegiance.  I have an enemy who still believes his power over me is strong, his hold on me is tight, his chains bind my heart and soul.

The Pilate then, and the 'Pilates' of today are wrong, dead--and rose again, wrong!

My God lives!  He lives in me!  His power is evident in the saving grace I accepted from Him that day in the little country church and in the living grace I exhibit each and every day of my life since then.

No 'Pilates' rule over me!
