BETRAYED
Today's reading: Luke 21-22

"So he began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus so they could arrest him quietly when the crowds weren't around." Luke 22:6 NLT

We gasp at what Judas did.

We say we'd never do what he did.

We use his name synonymously to denote behavior unbecoming.

And yet we do just what he did.

To the same One he did it to.

We turn our backs on the Savior who can save us. We refuse to bow to the Creator who created us. We defer help from our great Helper. We remain quiet in regards to the Redeemer who has freed us from all we deserve.

We sell Him short. We disobey His instructions. We choose not to mention His name in casual conversation, as if what He has done for us is common, ordinary or plain.

We betray Him just as Judas did.
