WONDER
Today's reading: Acts 1-2
"They were beside themselves with wonder. How can this be? they exclaimed..." Acts 2:7 NLT
You'll need to read a few verses before this one and a few verses after it in order to get the premise of what caught my eye.
Folks, skeptical folks if I were to guess, were beside themselves with wonder and they exclaimed that emotion.
At what?
Not the latest celerity crush.
Or the championship ball game scores.
Or having won the lottery.
They were amazed at what God did through the Holy Spirit.
He knocked their socks off. Made their jaws drop. Left them scratching their heads in thunderstruck awe.
Here's the most exciting part--He still does it today!
He stirs hearts to revival, He brings sinners to repentance, He moves mountains no one thought could ever move.
He still amazes. He still leaves us wondering how and why He would do that for us.
Watch for His work--we need something to be utterly impressed with this day and age!
