HIS BLOOD
Today's reading: Exodus 9-12
"The blood you have smeared on your doorposts will serve as a sign. When I see the blood, I will pass over you..." Exodus 12:13 NLT
As I read this morning, there is one thing God speaks to my heart...
Am I claiming His blood over my home?
I cannot give this charge to my neighbor, my dearest friend or my pastor.
I cannot depend upon great Sunday School teachers, Bible-believing grandparents or church membership.
I cannot think this to be an old-fashioned rite of passage or an out-dated religious practice.
The blood, Christ's blood, is all that will save me--all that will save anyone in my household--all that will save those I love.
Is it so evident, how precious it is to me, how much grace I have received from it, how desperately I claim it as my hope and salvation, in my life that I smear it everywhere I go?
On the doorposts of my home, the counter where I serve the public, the room where I lead a Sunday School class, the couch I sit on during Bible study, the stores I shop in, the lives I touch?
