HE HAS SPOKEN
Today's reading:  Jeremiah 42-46

"...I will bring great disaster upon all these people, but I will protect you where ever you go, I, the Lord, have spoken!"  Jeremiah 45:5 NLT

Jeremiah was one godly man against an army of unbelievers.  He was a sole prophet in an ungodly nation.  He was speaking truth to a community of lie-believers.  He delivered God's Word to a king and a country who didn't care who God was.

But God made him a promise...

I will protect you.

It wasn't Jeremiah's preacher's words.

It wasn't the words of his favorite, most knowledgeable Sunday School teacher.

It wasn't reassuring words spoken to him by his loving parents.

God spoke the words.  God made the promise.  God's reputation was on the line for upholding what was said.

So Jeremiah continued on.  Jeremiah believed.  Jeremiah trusted.  Jeremiah did what God asked him to do.  Jeremiah stood on the promises of his God and Deliverer.
