SORROW
Today's reading:  Ecclesiastes 7-8

"Sorrow is better than laughter, for sadness has a refining influence on us."  Ecclesiastes 7:3 NLT

I think we all agree that Solomon, with God's leading, is right about this statement.

But would you ever pray it over your life, or the life of a loved one...

Lord, help me lose someone near and dear, so I may console and comfort another with empathy.

Lord, take away all I have, so I may share personally with another in their time of loss.

Lord, make me cry, so I will be able to do more than just pass a tissue to another.

Lord, mess up my life, so I can encourage and enlighten another when discouragement comes their way.

Lord, break me, so that where I heal will be stronger and more dependent upon You.

Lord, place me in the heat of it all, so that the dross may be skimmed from my life.

Is being refined into His image and His likeness worth the prayer?
