SELF-CONTROL
Today's reading:  Proverbs 25

"A person without self-control is as defenseless as a city with broken down walls."  Proverbs 25:28 NLT

I've given up on producing or promoting self-control in my own life.

Don't gasp.  Don't choke.  Don't immediately call your church's prayer chain and add my name because I've given up on one of the fruit of the Spirit.

I've nothing against self-control. The people I know who have it are admirable and enviable.

It's just, well, it's just one who has self-control has sole control of one's self.  That's what scares me.

I've seen my track record.  I'm a failing and flailing individual.

I'm afraid of my self!  I'm opting for God-control instead!
