MY SHIELD
Today's reading:  Psalm 114-116

"All you who fear the Lord, trust the Lord!  He is your helper, he is your shield."  Psalm 115:11 NLT

God is my shield.

Shields are used in battles, skirmishes and fights as a form of protection.

Shields are pieces of armor intended for close contact defensive actions.

Shields are meant to protect the head, heart and chest--the most vital parts of one's body.

Shields are to be held tightly and closely by the person needing protection.  It cannot be held by someone else successfully.

Shields are something we think no longer necessary, as being outdated, as medieval.

Sad to say, but maybe that's our problem--we think of the Lord in much the same way.

He is our Helper and our Shield.
