A ROCK NAMED EBENEZER
Today's reading: 1 Samuel 6-10
"Samuel then took a large stone and placed it between the towns of Mizpah and Jeshanah. He named it Ebenezer--'the stone of help'--for he said, Up to this point the Lord has helped us!" 1 Samuel 7:12 NLT
Call me silly.
Consider me to be a simple minded gal.
Tell your friends about my antics.
Decide in your mind that I've totally lost it, but here is what I'm doing today...
I'm finding a nice rock in my landscaping.
I'm naming that rock, Ebenezer.
I'm placing that rock on my coffee table--a place I pass hundreds of times in each day. I will pick it up to dust it. There will be visitors ask about why I have a rock in my front room.
I want Ebenezer the rock to remind me that up to this point, to the very point at which the little stone catches my eye, the Lord has helped me. The Lord has been faithful. The Lord has followed through on all He has asked of me and all He has required of me. The Lord has never left me to my own devices.
And I'm believing Ebenezer will also remind me to trust God for what I'm wanting/needing to see happen.
