PREPARATION
Today's reading:  Esther 6-10

I read today about the preparations Esther made to see the king.

How she prepared herself.  How she planned what to say.  How she prayed--and asked those around her to pray.

All in preparation to see an earthly king.

It takes me back a few thousand years to preparations made for another king.

A small one.

A tiny, Baby from the wrong side of town--but straight from the portals of heaven.

A Baby no one had made room for.

A Baby no one expected, at least not when they thought of a King.

No fanfare. 

That Baby has come.  That Baby has lived.  That Baby has performed miracles.  That Baby has offered His life on the cross.  That Baby has defied death and has risen again!  That Baby has provided us an eternal home and an eternity with Him.

How are you preparing to come into His presence today?
