LISTEN
Today's reading: Psalm 48-50
"O my people, listen as I speak..." Psalm 50:7 NLT
Though I'm the only one up at this time, our house is loud with noise.
I hear the hum of the refrigerator. I hear the drip of the faucet. I hear some soft snoring from the bedrooms. I hear the squeak of my old rocking chair as I sit and type.
I also hear God.
I hear Him in my heartbeat. I hear Him in the Word I've just read. I hear Him in the fact that I've just spent a restful night sleeping instead of fretting or worrying over what might be or could be.
If I'll choose to listen for Him, I'll hear Him loud and clear. Above the noises. Above the other sounds vying for my attention.
