Today's reading: Matthew 1-2
"They entered the house where the child and his mother, Mary, were, and they fell down before him and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh." Matthew 2:11 NLT
Let's notice the chain of events...
They sought out Jesus.
They bowed low before Him.
They worshiped Him.
They opened up their treasures and attempted to give Him all they considered valuable.
We sometimes get things out of order, don't we?
We expect Him to come to us?
We throw a weekly tithe check His way and expect blessings to fall on us from the act?
We honor and praise Him AFTER a great display of His work in our life?
Let's do it like the wise men did--wisely.
And with our whole hearts.
And in a way that will for many centuries to come, be honored and remembered and set as an example for others to follow.
