AT TIMES BE QUIET
Today's reading: 2 Timothy 1-2
"Again I say, don't get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. The Lord's servants must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone. They must be able to teach effectively and be patient with difficult people." 2 Timothy 2:23-24 NLT
Sometimes, Christian brother and sister, we don't need to say anything.
We needn't always speak out.
We don't always need to quote Scripture.
We shouldn't raise our voice in retaliation to theirs.
We, at times, just need to keep the peace.
Oh, for those of you thinking we need to 'stand up for God', well, that is admirable, but He doesn't need our help in every situation. In the words of St. Augustine of Hippo, "The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend a lion. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
