SPEAK WHEN LED
Today's reading: 2 Samuel 1-4
"Then Joab said, God only knows what would have happened if you hadn't spoken..." 2 Samuel 2:27 NLT
Boy, oh boy, did this verse ever catch my eye.
Let me introduce myself: I am a talker. I am the wife of a man who is not a talker. I am a gal whose mouth is constantly engaged. I am a woman who, if awake, is talking. I am a Christian who struggles with a 'thorn in my flesh' shaped a lot like the desire to be heard. I am one who believes my opinion should be voiced, and usually is. And, I am aware of my disability and battles it daily and hourly.
Then to read today's verse.
And to think about the lives I might change if I do speak when God leads me to.
And to experience the joy of obedience to my Father when I mention His name to another.
And to know if I'm talking about Him, I'm fulfilling my Great Commission.
And to fathom the possibility of being one crying out in the darkness about the Light of the World.
May all of my words be filled with Him, His grace, His love, His wisdom...and may yours be, too.
