WHAT WILL YOU ALLOW?
Today's reading: Acts 1-2
I'm working on a new Bible study, an overview of the entire Bible actually. In it, the book of Acts is referred to as sometimes being called, the Acts of the Apostles. A record of what all they did in furthering the Gospel.
These were some great men--and women. They endured. The persevered. They died to make sure the message of Christ went to the whole world.
But shouldn't it really be called the Acts of the Holy Spirit?
Isn't He the one who enabled them to do what they did?
Isn't He the one that gave them the words, gave them the strength, gave them the zeal with which to preach, teach and evangelize?
And then I think, it was the actions of the apostles that allowed the Holy Spirit to work in their lives. It was the early missionaries who said 'yes'. It was their obedience that took God's Word into the whole world.
So, I wonder what acts I will allow the Holy Spirit to do via me today?
