Today's reading: Romans 7-8

"So this is the point: The law no longer holds you in its power, because you died to its power when you died with Christ on the cross..." Romans 7:7 NLT

A quick Google search tells me that there were 613 Old Testament laws devout Jews were asked to keep on a daily basis.

That's a lot of rules.

That's a lot of time spent thinking about a lot of rules to keep.

Those rules were meant to keep Old Testament people safe, set apart from the world and holy.

I'm so glad Jesus came.

I couldn't keep those rules. Not all 613 of them. Not a good portion of them, if I am to be honest.

He came and provided a way beyond the rules.

He came and offered grace.

Grace covers me.

And you.
