FIRM
Today's reading: Isaiah 22-25
"The Lord Almighty says, When that time comes, I will pull out the stake that seemed so firm. It will come out and fall to the ground. Everything it supports will fall with it. I, the Lord, have spoken!" Isaiah 22:25 NLT
Firm-securely or solidly fixed in place; not weak or uncertain; having a solid or compact structure that resists stress or pressure.
Maybe you've felt the earth-moving upheaval of your support being toppled.
The bank account that was a comfortable nest egg wiped out by unforeseen circumstances...
The job you had settled into absorbed into a cost-cutting downsizing...
The one you love, had loved for a long time, would love forever, taken--or worse, chose to leave...
All you had depended upon was gone.
Your 'tent stake' was removed and you were left standing underneath a crumpled, heavy canvas.
But that is when you found Him, wasn't it?
Your Rock.
Your Anchor.
Your Fortress.
Your God.
Strong. Unmoving. Unwavering. Solid. Certain. Consistent. Dependable. Unshakeable. Firm.
Just waiting for you to stop placing trust in everything and everyone else--and trust Him.
