POTS AND KETTLES
Today's reading: Mark 7-8
"One day some Pharisees and teachers of religious law arrived from Jerusalem to confront Jesus." Mark 7:1 NLT
You gasp. You are shocked. You choke on the boldness of the Pharisees.
Just who in the world did they think they were to question Jesus?
Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?
Don't we do the same thing?
We use our prayer time to essentially interrogate our Savior about His plans, His timing, His ways and His abilities.
We call it prayer but it is really time spent in suggestive counseling to the Creator of the universe.
We would never ask Him, 'Who do you think you are?', yet our motives and attitudes are no less questionable that those of the religious leaders of His time.
I'm going to do some soul-searching before I go into my prayer closet today.
