Today's reading: Mark 13-14
"As Jesus was leaving the Temple that day, one of his disciples said, Teacher look at these tremendous buildings! Look at the massive stones in the walls! Jesus replied, These magnificent buildings will be so completely demolished that not one stone will be left on top of another." Mark 13:1-2 NLT
This is the picture I took standing on the southern end of the Temple area in Jerusalem.
This is the exact verse I thought of when I saw this pile of stones...not rocks, not rubble, but stones. Some eight feet tall and four or five feet across.
Jesus knew what was ahead when He saw the boys looking in amazement at the grand walls of the city. He knew what was to come of what they were so ardently admiring. He knew how inconsequential these massive stones were in regards to what was to come.
He does the same with the mountainous obstacles in our way today!
