HOW TERRIBLE
Today's reading: 1 Corinthians 5-6

"How terrible that you should boast about your spirituality, and yet you let this sort of thing go on. Don't you realize that if even one person is allowed to go on sinning, soon all will be affected?" 1 Corinthians 5:6 NLT

I'm disgusted with the very thought of a new television series ABC is unveiling on Sunday nights. So disgusted in fact that I'll not even mention it's name as not to give it any more publicity than it asks for.

That disgust can fuel me or quiet me. I can boycott, write letters, sign petitions and contact sponsors...or I can just refuse to watch it. Quietly switch channels. Allow Neilson to count my households' television out of the ratings.

Sin is alot like that. The little things I can just ignore, right? Deal with the big stuff, the visible things, the 'top ten' of God's no-no's.

But as Paul mentioned in 1 Corinthians, how terrible it is for us even to ignore the seeds of sin scattered throughout our life. How dare we compare any sin, ours or others, as to which might be worse, bigger or more sin-ly.

Deal with with them all. Confess them all. Refuse to be chained, tied, bound or mastered by them all.

And as far as the new television program that brings my blood to a boil--shouldn't we all be at church on Sunday evenings anyway???
