THE KING
Today's reading: Proverbs 25
"No one can discover the height of heaven, the depth of the earth, or all that goes on in the king's mind." Proverbs 25:3 NLT
If I may take liberties with the punctuation in this verse.
Not to take away from it or to add anything to it--who am I do even think I could do such a thing.
But to put another set of lenses on our Bible-reading eyes.
What if this verse looked like this:
No one can discover the height of heaven, the depth of the earth, or all that goes on in the King's mind.
With that one simple capitalization, the focus completely leaves the head knowledge of wise Solomon as described by his advisers, into the realm of our reigning Lord and King.
There is no limit to what we can learn from God, about God, with God, for God.
We cannot begin to question His motives, His ways, His means--because in doing so it only opens more doors and more facets of His loving, just, grace-filled nature.
There is truly no discovering the boundaries of God, there is only appreciating them, leaning on them and learning from them.
The intrigue draws us ever so close to Him.
