HAGAR AND HER GOD
Today's reading: Genesis 16-19
"Thereafter, Hagar referred to the Lord, who had spoken to her, as 'The God Who Sees Me", for she said, I have seen the One who sees me!" Genesis 16:13 NLT
I always love reading Genesis and the account of God finding Hagar on the roadside.
He found her broken. He found her alone. He found her cut off from anyone and everyone. He found her in a precarious position as a young, single woman.
So to think about the fact that from that day forth Hagar no longer calls Him Abram's God or Sarai's God or the God of the Israelite people, but THE GOD WHO SEES ME.
What a turning point in her life.
What a moment of revelation and discovery.
What a foundation to lay the stones of every other day of her life upon.
He sees us, too. Always. Where ever we are. What ever we are up to our necks in.
He is the GOD WHO SEES US!
