JUST SITTING BEFORE THE LORD
Today's reading: 2 Samuel 7:18-10:19. John 10:11-30, Psalm 86:1-10
"Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and prayed, Who am I, O Sovereign Lord, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far?" 2 Samuel 7:18 NLT
Lord,
I get how David felt as he sat before you.
Overwhelmed by Your presence.
Blessed by Your gifts.
Humbled by the spectrum of who You are.
Amazed by Your willingness to devote such love, mercy and grace on one such as him--on one such as me.
My prayer chair feels very much like a holy place this morning as I sit in Your presence.
Unable to ask.
Incapable of gathering enough words to thank You.
Embarrassed to even be in Your midst.
So, like King David, I sit here asking myself, and You--Who am I that You would do all this for me?
