GOD'S SIGNATURE
Today's reading: Psalm 108-110
"Let them see that this is your doing, that you yourself have done it, Lord." Psalm 109:27 NLT
I have an earnest prayer request. One that God hears about daily, sometimes several times in one day. One that rises from the pit of my stomach, effects all areas of my heart and fills my head with an evenly distributed amount of fear and faith--if that can happen.
It's one that when it is answered, I want God's name, His fingerprints, His will and His ways all over it. His signature, really.
Like an artist signing a canvas. A masterpiece created.
And to tell you the truth, I want it answered RIGHT NOW. But that's the 'me holding the paintbrush' talking.
Because if I have it happen on my time...
In my way...
To the specifications I would prefer...
In the order I'd like to see it happen...
Well, then I've taken the brush out of God's hand and am wielding it unskillfully--and the work done will have my signature on it, not His.
So, I repeat the prayer David prayed today:
Lord, Let the world see that this is Your doing, that You Yourself have done it, Lord!
