BANDAGED
Today's reading:  Job 5-6

"For though he wounds, he also bandages.  He strikes, but his hand also heals."  Job 5:18 NLT

Ever been chastised by the Lord?

Maybe an errant thought that lead to a sinful action.  Maybe a snide comment, unnecessary and unkind.  Maybe it's something you failed to do.  Maybe it's an attitude that a godly person should not be harboring.

Whatever it was, you felt the sting of God's wrath.

A sick feeling in the pit of your stomach.  A punch to the gut.  An embarrassing moment where you had to seek forgiveness--not just His, but of someone else's.

He disciplines.

He has to.

But He also draws us into His arms and hugs us till the snuffling stops, the lesson is learned and the pain ceases to fill our thoughts.  He wipes our tears.  He comforts us and sets us back on a right path of action.  He assures us that we're not the only ones He is called to do it to.

He is our Heavenly Father and we are His wayward children.
