IDOLS
Today's reading: Jeremiah 47-52
"...They make idols, but the idols will disgrace their makers, for they are frauds. They have no life or power in them." Jeremiah 51:17 NLT
Isn't that the truth?!
Each and every time I've chosen to lean against an idol of my own making, I've ended up flat on my face.
Embarrassed.
Ashamed.
More deeply in need than when I began my pursuit.
Hanging my head and going back to God for forgiveness--again.
Oh, I have been warned. Repeatedly.
I have the scars. Many of them.
I have heard the testimonials from others.
Idols aren't dependable. Ever.
Idols cannot help me. They don't have it in them.
My only hope is God.
