FRATERNIZING WITH THE ENEMY
Today's reading: Deuteronomy 7-9
"When the Lord your God hands these nations over to you and you conquer them, you must completely destroy them. Make no treaties with them and show them no mercy." Deuteronomy 7:2 NLT
Victory is coming, the Lord says.
If there's ever been a morning I needed reminded of that, this is the morning!
I can push away any doubt I might have in regards to God holding up His end of the bargain.
I can hope.
I can anticipate.
I can believe.
And when the victory comes?
There will be no more fraternizing with the enemy. No meddling in his midst. No taking the lure of his temptations. No walking the fence. No attempting to manage light and dark, good and bad, right and wrong. No deliberations as to whether or not I want to go back to the prison he has held me in. No debating with myself over gray areas. No attempting to put my enemy on a leash and make it a pet.
I've got to wash my hands of my enemy.
And with victory coming, it might as well start today!
