ALWAYS THE SAME
Today's reading:  Lamentations

"But Lord, you remain the same forever!.."  Lamentations 5:19 NLT

Chapter after chapter.  Verse after verse.

Sorrow.  Sadness.  Horrible happenings.  Famine.  Disease.  Death.

Grief.  Pain.  Anguish.

Lamentations is a funeral song, of sorts.  It gives countless examples of the trials and tribulations experienced by the Israelites when they chose to quit obeying God.

But one of the last few verses, place everything into perspective.

"But Lord, you remain the same forever!.."

He allows us walk away.  He watches as we cover up our ears to His instructions.  He lets us choose other paths.  And He cringes as He sees what happens to us while on them.

And yet He stays the same.

The problem is most definitely not Him!
