DAVID ASKED THE LORD

Today's reading: 1 Samuel 21-25

"David asked the Lord..." 1 Samuel 23:2 NLT

A simple phrase.

Four words.

Throughout the course of his life, David sought the Lord's wisdom, guidance and instruction.

He asked the Lord when to fight and when to hide.

He asked the Lord where to hole up and where to make a charge.

He asked the Lord when to do what he wanted to do and if he should do it at all.

He asked the Lord for blessing and he asked the Lord for forgiveness.

David, the man after God's own heart, kept an ongoing conversation with the Lord in regards to living the life the Lord had given him. He paused long enough to wait for an answer--expecting to hear each and every time he asked. He believed God heard his prayer and honored his asking.

Wouldn't it profit us to do the same?
