I don't know about you, but not once yesterday, did anyone, not one single time, did anyone remind me of exactly who I am in Christ like this verse does.

Oh, they gave me other labels.

They pronounced other judgements on me.

They spoke other names upon me, either to my face or behind my back.

But to be called His chosen people, His priest, His nation, His very own possession? I needed that reminder.

I needed that nudge to keep on keeping on.

I needed that stimulation as to why He has called me such.

I needed that encouragement to my spirit when the other labels threaten to smother me.

I needed that lift when the waves of the world overwhelmed me.

It's not too late in this year to begin the practice of daily Bible reading. It's never too late!
