FIND YOUR STRENGTH
Today's reading: 1 Samuel 28-31
"...But David found strength in the Lord his God." 1 Samuel 30:6 NLT
I don't know if you have been watching the 'virus maps' on the news. They are the simulated models of the spread of COVID-19 throughout the US. What started as tiny red dots in New York has now grown like a rash across the states.
I don't think I was too concerned until the 'rash' spread to Illinois--and then in the past few days to the little county my quiet little farm rests in.
The illness is inching closer and closer to our little farmhouse. It's a problem that I once thought was everyone else's and is now approaching my doorstep. And it's been growing in size the longer it has run rampant.
David faced some big problems, too.
Problems that not only touched his life, but reached out and touched the lives of those around him--and their families.
He couldn't fix them. He couldn't undo them. He couldn't provide an answer. He couldn't stand up under the weight of it.
So he sought the Lord.
God was David's only hope--and He is our only hope, too.
Do you know Him?
Is He your strength?
Is He your Savior and Friend?
He can be more than a safety net or a life preserver, much more!
Don't wait until the biggest problem of your life rings your doorbell and steps inside the walls of your home to seek Him out.
Friend, don't wait!
