BUILDING MATERIALS
Today's reading: 1 Chronicles 21-22, Acts 18:1-23, Psalm 107:1-9
"...So David collected vast amounts of building materials before his death." 1 Chronicles 22:5 NLT
David knew, at this point in his life, that he was not going to be the one to build God a grand temple.
By God's choosing, David's son, Solomon, would take on the task.
But that didn't stop David from gathering supplies.
From stockpiling resources.
From banking the warehouses full of things that would be needed--gold, silver, wood, steel.
And he continued gathering these building supplies, I believe, until his last breath.
And that's what we should all be doing.
Stockpiling for the future faith of our children.
Gathering up goods for the future godly steps of those we love.
Keeping the highways of holiness smooth, swept clean of litter and well marked for those who will travel it later.
Making sure the deposit of our words, about His Word, into the heart and lives of others enrich their hearts and testimonies.
What we do with our lives and what we leave behind will be all that matters of our short time on earth.
