OUR PART
Today's reading: Deuteronomy 19-20
"The Lord your God will soon destroy the nations whose land he is giving you, and you will displace them and settle in their towns and homes." Deuteronomy 19:1 NLT
This verse consists of two thoughts, separated by a comma.
First part: God will destroy.
Second part, our part: We will displace.
I don't know about you, but I've wasted a lot of time and energy attempting to do God's job.
Trying to defeat satan.
Striving to gain a victory.
Working myself into a tailspin that shows I have succeeded over evil.
That's not my job. And not only that, it's a job that's already been done!
My job, according to this verse, is to pack up any bits and pieces left of the enemy's former life in mine that are left behind.
I am to displace. To box up. To remove any sign. To disinfect. To clean house.
I am to get rid of any and all traces of my enemy, my enemy who God has defeated, and live.
That sounds a whole lot easier, now doesn't it?
