OLIVE OIL
Today's reading: Leviticus 22-24
"The Lord said to Moses, Command the people of Israel to provide you with pure olive oil for the lampstands, so it can be kept burning continually." Leviticus 24:1 NLT
Why olive oil?
No smoke. No odor.
Nothing to hide us. Nothing to mask the scent of worship for Him.
Like looking good on Sunday morning as we sit in our pew.
Like putting on Christian airs as we accept the bread and the cup.
Like dousing ourselves with the smells of godliness for our church attendance.
Like carrying with us the fragrance of a heart bent on serving Him but a head filled with things of the world.
Like knowing all the right words to say.
When to stand and when to sit.
All the verses--and choruses.
Olive oil.
Is it what you're burning for Him?
