I'D LIKE TO TEACH THE WORLD TO SING
Today's reading: Revelation 7-11
"After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white and held palm branches in their hands. And they were shouting, with a mighty shout, Salvation comes from our God on the throne and from the Lamb!" Revelation 7:9-10 NLT
I'm a 70's kids.
I remember the Brady Bunch, Reading Rainbow and Little House on the Prairie.
I recall boxes of sugary cereal with toys down deep in the recesses of the crunchy bits, red Kool-Aid and reading to gain pizza coupons.
I even sent a mouse to college by collecting quarters!
But when I read this verse?
When I think about the sight this portion of Scripture describes?
I am taken back to the 'I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing' ads Coca-Cola would play every Christmas of my youth.
People of all colors, heights, widths, nationalities, singing the same song. About peace and cola.
Oh, the thrill of seeing that 'song' sung about Jesus!
The throne will be a palette of colors. A melting pot of nationalities. A chorus of various languages.
All about Jesus--the Lamb on the throne.
So, to leave you with a little jingle in your head...
I'd like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I'd like to hold it in my arms
And keep it company
I'd like to see the world for once
All standing hand in hand
And hear them echo through the hills
For peace throughout the land
That's the song I hear
Let the world sing today
A song of peace that it goes on
And never goes away
