BOLD PROMISES
Today's reading: Isaiah 45-50

"I am the Lord, he says, and there is no other. I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner so no one can understand what I mean. And I did not tell the people of Israel to ask me for something I did not plan to give. I, the Lord, speak only what is true and right." Isaiah 45:18b-19 NLT

I sure needed this today.

I needed reminded that God proclaims BOLD promises.

He makes statements only He can uphold, follow through on, allow to happen.

Think about a few of His promises...

I will never leave or forsake you.

I will be faithful.

I will strengthen you and help you. 

Not a one of these promises are humanly possible, even by the greatest saint. Or the friend with the best of intentions. Or by a congregation of Bible-believers. Or by a fiercely loving momma.

Only God.
