NOW
Today's reading: Genesis 24-27
"Jacob replied, All right, but trade me your birthright for it. Look, I'm dying of starvation! said Esau. What good is my birthright to me now?" Genesis 25:31-32 NLT
Esau, and his stomach, were focused solely on the here-and-now, and nothing beyond.
Our microwave generation understands that. What we want, we want now. What we have today, we spend instead of putting aside some for tomorrow. What we feel like doing, we do--giving little thought to consequences.
Maybe, just maybe, you're going through something that was unsuspected, unasked for, unwanted or undeserved. Maybe what's going on leaves you with unease, unrest and unwarranted ridicule.
Maybe it's not just for now.
Remain faithful as God pieces together the tough times with the blessed times to weave a godly life for you.
Look past today--towards eternity. Eternity, when this bump in the road will be forgotten.
