Today's reading: 1 Chronicles 16-18

"Search for the Lord and for his strength. and keep on searching." 1 Chronicles 16:11 NLT

Search-to look into or over carefully or thoroughly in an effort to find or discover something; to uncover or find or come to know by inquiry.

I'm very often guilty of expecting God to drop into my lap blessings, words of hope or answers to my questions.

I expect Him to present Himself when I call.

To appear on a whim.

But it tells me this morning that the effort is on my part.

I'm to search for Him.

To look hard.

To uncover Him in the toughest times, the darkest days and the most inconsequential moments.

I'm to make an effort to see where He is, and join Him there.

And I'm to continue doing it until I stand before Him face to face!
