LIKE IT OR NOT
Today's reading: Jeremiah 42-46
"Whether we like it or not, we will obey the Lord our God to whom we send you with our plea. For if we obey him, everything will turn out well for us." Jeremiah 42:6 NLT
Ever obeyed God, but down deep (down in the parts of you that you really hope God doesn't see) you didn't want to?
Oh, you did it.
Just like He asked.
But you didn't want to.
Didn't like it.
Did it begrudgingly.
Because you knew as much as you didn't want to, you didn't want to disobey.
Because you knew, and had known for a long time, that your 'wanter' was broken and God was the only one who could fix it in the first place.
Let's be honest you feared God more than you wanted your own way.
That's a step of faith.
It's submission. It's getting your will into line with His. It's realizing He outranks.
Oh sure, it still leaves plenty of work to be done with the heart attitude--but He is a big and loving God who will work on that in His time, too--but it's a step in the right direction!
