DRESSED
Today's reading: Proverbs 1
"Listen, my child, to what your father teaches you. Don't neglect your mother's teaching. What you learn from them will crown you with grace and clothe you with honor." Proverbs 1:8-9 NLT
At 43 years of age, I'm proud to admit my parents still 'dress' me .
Oh no, they don't lay out my clothes, coordinate my accessories or do my hair, but they continue to influence everything I 'put on'.
Probably always will.
What they've taught me will always have a determining influence on my actions, words and responses.
I have watched, by their example, as they have become clothiers for the four of us girls--and now 4 married-into-the-family sons and 4 grand (super grand, in my opinion) kids.
Their fashion style? Simple. Grace-filled. Loving. Merciful. Service-oriented. Peaceful. Honorable. Kind. Hospitable. Compassionate. Committed. Helpful. Practical. Friendly. Hard-working. Godly.
In Sunday best or mow-the-yard blue jeans, my family dresses well, thanks to my parents!
