SPIRITUAL INVENTORY
Today's reading: Deuteronomy 16-18
"When you arrive in the land the Lord your God is giving you, be very careful not to imitate the detestable customs of the nations living there." Deuteronomy 18:9 NLT
Here are some questions I believe God has asked me this morning as I've read through this passage of Scripture...
-Am I behaving in a way that makes me set apart from the world I live in?
-Are my words different from those around me?
-Could someone identify me as a Christian after only a short time of knowing me?
-Is there more of the world in my life than there is God?
-Do folks know I'm different?
-Are my conversations littered more with 'me, myself and I' or with praise for God?
We've all heard the saying, 'A Christian is to be in the world, but not of the world.' Meaning we are to be impacting, not impacted. We are to stand out not blend in. We are to influence not be influenced.
I believe, for me, and maybe for you, too, it's time we did a little spiritual inventory to assess if we're more like them or more like Him.
