I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING
Today's reading: Genesis 48-50
"But Joseph was upset when he saw that his father had laid his right hand on Ephraim's head. So he lifted it to place it on Manasseh's head instead. No, Father, he said, this one over here is older. Put your right hand on his head. But his father refused. I know what I'm doing, my son, he said..." Genesis 48:17-19 NLT
I'm a Bible marker.
I have underlined portions in my daily study Bible. I have areas that are highlighted. I have notes written in the margins. I also have dates. Lots of dates.
For this very section of the Word, I've got two dates written down--and today's date is about to be logged alongside them.
Dates that I needed this reminder--Girl, I know what I am doing.
Times when I required God's words--No, take your hands off this, I've got it.
Moments when I had to have a fresh word of God--My dear child, it may not look at all like what you'd imagined in that wild-eyed imagination of yours, but you can trust Me.
Joseph attempted to help his daddy do what Joseph believed to be right, proper, appropriate and planned.
(I've been there and done that, Joseph!)
This third date alongside these scriptures will remind me, AGAIN, that everything is in God's perfectly planned control--God wants my complete trust and wholehearted obedience, He does not need my help.
