GOD BLESS AMERICA
Today's reading: Proverbs 11-12

I'm wishing this morning I had the know-how to have background music available as you read through this morning's devotion. Why? Well, because I'm humming it in my head as think about what it is God's said to me through his Word...

"Upright citizens bless a city and make it prosper, but the talk of the wicked tears it apart." Proverbs 11:11 NLT

What are you doing for your country?

Voting each and every time the polling places are open?

Writing your congress-person or senator when there's an important bill on their desks?

Have you served in the military? Are you raising a future soldier? Praying for our troops?

Are you obeying the speed limit?

The music's stopped, hasn't it? That's not what you had in mind when I asked about your patriotism? But, in all reality, doesn't our acknowledgement and honoring of nation's laws (each and every one of them), bring blessings to our country?

Our country is in desperate need of more Christians to act Christlike! It's time our churches, yes, our churches, promote godliness and honor in our congregant's lives outside the sanctuary of our church buildings.

Want to see our country rise up from the ashes, gleam in glory, become one nation under God once again--then live out the godly life you've been called to live!
