MY ONLY HOPE
Today's reading: Psalm 120-121
My normal 'devotion writing' routine is this: pray, read the Scripture, jot down verses that seem to jump off the page at me, then write about what God tells me in those special verses.
This morning, however, an entire chapter ministers to my heart. It soothes the sore places. It comforts the hurting spots. It renews my hope. It revives my soul. It assures me of my safe place in His hands. It reminds me of His sovereignty. It sets my thoughts on His strength and not on my weaknesses.
I'll share the entire chapter, see if there's any part of it you're needing today...
"I look up to the mountains--does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made the heavens and the earth! He will not let you stumble and fall; the one who watches over you will not sleep. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never tires and never sleeps. The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as a protective shade. The sun will not hurt you by day or the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all evil and preserves your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever." Psalm 121 NLT
