FREED TO GO
Today's reading: Romans 3-4
"Yet now God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed us by taking away our sins." Romans 3:24 NLT
Imagine being held and charged with crimes you were guilty of, very guilty of.
Imagine the attorney arguing your case before the judge and jury.
Imagine the Judge sitting there, listening to the whole story, reviewing all the evidence, looking deeply into just what happened.
Your charges are stated. Your guilt laid out plainly for all to see.
And yet the Judge declares you not guilty.
You are freed to go.
Would you stand and argue with Him? Would you re-state your case, making sure He understood all the issues, the crimes, the sins? Would you refuse to leave the courtroom? Would you ask that the handcuffs not be removed?
As I think of this scenario, I'm given pause to think about all I'm doing with the salvation He has granted me. Am I going forward freed? Am I considering myself released from guilt? Am I living the life of one who has been granted pardon, forgiveness and royal adoption?
Are you?
