WHAT AM I THINKING?
Today's reading:  Mark 7

"And then he added, It is the thought-life that defiles you."  Mark 7:20 NLT

Jesus and the Pharisees had discussed doctrine--the washing of the hands.

Jesus and the disciples had discussed hygiene and healthy eating habits--the cups, the pitchers and the food.

Now Jesus presents to the rest of us the real issue, our thoughts.

Thoughts incite, inflame, infect.

Thoughts ignite into deeds.

Thoughts grow into actions.

Bitterness.  Anger.  Hate.  Lust.  Envy.  Distrust.  Jealousy.

Just as dangerous to us as any mass of cancerous cells.  Just as harmful as a vial of poison.  Just as deadly as venom.

So, I'm having to ask myself--Just what am I thinking?
