THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS
Today's reading: 2 Samuel 18:19-19:39, John 13:21-38, Psalm 89:7-13
"Powerful is your arm! Strong is your hand! Your right hand is lifted high in glorious strength." Psalm 89:13 NLT
I think of how simple the words of this childhood song truly are for a believer...
He's got the whole world in His hands
He's got the whole wide world in His hands
He's got the whole world in His hands
He's got the whole world in His hands
Here is the problem...
I don't believe it like I did as a child.
I don't take its truth as matter-of-factly as I did at a young age.
My thought processes have matured and I have lost the sense of belief I once had in the simplest of God's truths.
Shame on me.
He still holds the whole world in His hands.
Even the parts I believe I am in control of.
Or the parts I think I can handle on my own.
Or the slots of time I consider to be under my charge.
My hands cannot handle it.
My abilities cannot manage it.
So I am left with the simple fact, He has still got the whole world in His hands.
And that's the best place for it to be!
