Today's reading: 2 Samuel 1-4
I think I get it now.
Why it is David is referred to as a 'man after God's own heart'.
In these few chapters, I see why it might be.
Saul is dead. David is finally in position to step into power as rightful and appointed king. After years of being hunted down, wrongly accused, being considered an enemy to the king and having to live in hiding.
And yet, he still petitions God as to how and when and with what attitude he should step into his new role.
That's a person who has a God-heart.
That's a lesson we should all learn.
